İstanbul Harbiye Military Museum & Congress Center is located in the heart of the city's business and cultural centre, allowing the traveller easy access to municipal, domestic and international transportation networks.

FROM ISTANBUL INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

23 km / 14.3 miles from Atatürk International Airport 
(40 minutes by taxi, cost approx. Euro 15 - YTL 45)

Public airport shuttle buses (HAVATAS) run between the airport and the city center (Taksim Square) from 7.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. every half hour for an approximate fee of Euro 5.- YTL12 - per person (to be paid on the bus in Turkish Lira). It takes about 30 min from airport to the city centre.

İstanbul Harbiye Military Museum & Congress Center is 15 m from Harbiye bus stop on the Taksim-Sisli line (a bus every 30 minutes)

To get from the airport by metro and tram, 3 lines have to be changed and below route should be followed.

• From Airport to Akasaray by metro
• From Aksaray to Kabatas by tram
• From Kabatas to Taksim by tram

Invitation Letter
Individuals requiring an official letter of invitation in order to attend the congress can write to the Organizing Secretariat. This procedure is designated to assist participants to obtain a visa or permission to attend the congress and does not imply a commitment to provide any financial support.

Name Badges
All participants are required to carry their name badges throughout the congress, particularly during their entrance to the congress centre, at the scientific sessions, exhibition and poster areas, and during all scheduled social activities to ensure the safe and smooth flow of the congress.

Exhibition Area
The pharmaceutical companies and medical equipment companies will be able to exhibit their products at the exhibition area at the congress venue. The exhibition will be open during whole congress.

Certificates of Attendance, Congress Programme Book and Congress Abstract CD
Certificates of attendance will be distributed to all registered participants at the end of the congress at the registration desk. Congress programme book and Congress abstracts CD will be available in the congress bags.

Language
The official language of the congress is English.

Easy Access
Atatürk Airport serves domestic and international scheduled and charter flights 24 hours a day. It is located 24 kilometres west of the city centre. In view of public usage, the Atatürk Airport facilities are established on an area consisting of a total of 9,470,554 square meters, with a yearly capacity of 14 million passengers to serve at international terminal and 6 million passengers at domestic terminal.

Visa Requirements
All participants are required a valid passport to enter Turkey. Citizens of some countries may obtain visa before arrival and some may obtain it at the airport upon arrival. The most updated visa information can be received from the website of the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Banks and Currency Exchange
In Turkey the currency is the Turkish Lira (TL). Foreign currencies can be exchanged at the airport as well as at the private exchange offices throughout the city which are open from 8:30 to 20:00 hrs. Local banks, where Traveler's cheques and Euro cheques can be cashed, serve between 8:30 and 17:00 hrs. All major credit cards (such as Visa, MasterCard) are accepted in most of the Turkish restaurants, shops etc.

Climate and Clothing
May is spring in Turkey and is one of the most pleasant seasons. Average temperature is between 20ºC – 30ºC. We recommend you bring light clothes.

Electricity
The electric current is 220V AC with a frequency of 50 Hertz. European standard plugs with two round pins are used.

Liability and Insurance
The registration fees do not include the insurance of participants against personal accidents, sickness, and cancellations by any party, theft, loss or damage to personal possessions. Participants are advised to take out adequate personal insurance to cover travel, accommodation, cancellation and personal effects.

Turkey is two hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time and seven hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time.
